oneworld crowned Best Airline Alliance by Business Traveller Awards

oneworld® has been named Best Airline Alliance in the 2019 Business Traveller Awards, making it the seventh year in a row that the alliance has won the recognition.

oneworld was selected as the Best Airline Alliance by Business Traveller readers who voted for their preferred travel providers in the annual awards, which have been a longstanding fixture in the business travel industry for more than 30 years. oneworld Chief Transformation Officer Rishi Kapoor accepted the award on behalf of the alliance at the awards ceremony, presented by BBC News Deputy Political Editor John Pienaar, in London on 7 October.

This award is just one among multiple repeat awards for oneworld in the recent year. In the past 12 months, oneworld received the following accolades:

• Best Airline Alliance in Global Traveler magazine’s 2018 GT Tested Reader Survey Awards, for the ninth consecutive year

• Best Airline Alliance in Business Traveler North America’s Best in Business Travel Awards, for the fourth year in a row

• Favourite Airline Alliance in the Trazee Travel Awards, for the third year running

• World’s Leading Airline Alliance in the World Travel Awards, for the 16th consecutive year

oneworld member airlines British Airways and Qatar Airways were also lauded with several honours in the Business Traveller Awards.

Qatar Airways was crowned Best Airline, Best Long-Haul Airline and Best Middle Eastern Airline. It was also recognised as having the Best Business Class cabin. British Airways received the awards for Best Short-Haul Carrier and Best Frequent Flyer Programme. It also won Best Airport Lounge for its Concorde Room at London Heathrow Terminal 5. In addition, British Airways and London Heathrow received the Best Product or Service Innovation award for biometric gates at the airport.
