oneworld opens new combined transfer facility at Heathrow

23 Oktober 2003

oneworld™, the leading international airline alliance, has opened a new, combined transfer facility for passengers connecting to or from flights operated by its three airlines using Terminal 3 at the group's main European hub, London Heathrow.

It replaces separate units previously offered by the three carriers – American Airlines, British Airways and Cathay Pacific Airways.

It will offer the third of a million customers a year connecting to or from their Terminal 3 flights substantially better overall facilities – at no additional unit cost for the companies.

London Heathrow is already one of 25 airports around the world where oneworld carriers have extensive joint facilities. At Terminal 4, British Airways and Qantas share virtually all facilities. At Terminal 1, Finnair uses BA amenities extensively. In Terminal 3, BA offers premium passengers lounge facilities in American's Admirals Club.

oneworld Managing Partner John McCulloch said: "With this new facility, oneworld partners American, British Airways and Cathay Pacific can offer a much better service to their third of a million passengers a year transferring at Heathrow Terminal 3. It will also improve considerably communication between the three airlines at the 'shopfloor' level."
